Name : Ephemeral communication backbones for data harvesting in wireless sensor networks.

Explanation : The goal of my Ph.D. is to propose solution for efficient data harvesting methods into wireless sensor networks without any fixed infrastructure. To achieved that I will use mobile sinks such as data mule, UAV (Unmaned Aerial Vehicles), UGV (Unmaned Ground Vehicle) and low orbit satellites. These methods shall take advantage of opportunistic communications to maximize PDR (packet delivery ratio) and minimize latency, AoI (Age of Information) and energy consumption. Technics such as Multi-RAT (Radio Access Technologies) and edge computing could be used to achieve that.

Team

I am currently pursuing a CIFRE industrial PhD, conducted in collaboration between Neusta France and the IRIT laboratory (a joint research unit of the CNRS). Within IRIT, I am part of the ASR (Systems and Networks Architecture) department and a member of the RMESS research team. On the industry side, I work within Neusta’s R&D department on the Ecosense 360 project, which focuses on developing an innovative sensor network for environmental monitoring. My time is shared dynamically between academic research at the lab and practical application within the company.
